Relocation Programs

SMOOTH MOVE
This workshop provides military personnel and family members with the tools for planning a smooth PCS move. It is designed to ease the potential stress and frustration associated with relocation of military members and families.
Free informational brochures, maps, relocation planning guides and information about your next duty station are made available to you during this workshop. This workshop addresses issues for both INCONUS and overseas moves. The agenda includes financial planning for a move, moving with children and pets, benefits and entitlements, and setting up your household good shipments with briefs from subject matter experts in Personal Property, Lincoln Housing, PSD, the School Liaison Officer, TRIWEST, FFSC Financial Counselor and the base veterinarian.

MARRIED TO THE MILITARY (NEW SPOUSE ORIENTATION)
Designed for the newly married spouse and spouses newly arriving to NAS Lemoore. Course agenda includes: spouse employment assistance, understanding military pay and allowances, benefits and resources, the ranking system and the origins and importance of military traditions, social customs, and ceremonies. The guest speakers include representatives from Personnel Support Detachment (PSD), Navy Exchange and Commissary, TRIWEST, Navy College, Ombudsman program, New Parent Support, Financial Counselor, and the Family Employment Assistance Program. This is a great opportunity for you to get familiar with the Naval Air Station and the surrounding communities, as well as meet other new spouses.

LENDING LOCKER/HOSPITALITY KITS
Items available to both inbound and outbound military and their families with PCS orders and identification while they await the arrival of their household goods or the commencement of their travel. Check out is free and includes the following items: pots and pans, dishes, flatware, measuring cups, can opener, serving utensils, pot holder, trivet, toaster, and coffee maker. Sleeping mats, irons and ironing boards are also available.
SPONSOR TRAINING
Training includes recommendations for pre-arrival, arrival, and post-arrival support, as well as checklists, sample letters, relocation websites and informational material for NAS Lemoore such as phone books, maps, chamber books, and other supplemental material for Welcome Aboard packages. Subjects unique to NAS Lemoore and California are discussed such as base pet policies, Tule Fog, newcomer anxieties, family member outreach, BAC, job market information. Programs and resources such as military installations, Military OneSource, AHERN, HEAT, e-sponsorship and FFSC services are also covered. (Class is 1 hour)

INDOCTRINATION BRIEFS
FFSC Services briefs provided regularly for base indoc and upon request to any command or department. A 15 to 20 minute brief provides an overview of marriage and individual counseling services, New Parent Support Program, Victim Advocacy, Sexual Assault Prevention, Ombudsman Program, Financial Counseling Program, employment assistance services and career center, life skills classes, transition assistance. Includes informational brochures, maps, California tourism material and chamber books.
