Water Update -- Safe for Consumption

The water supply at Navail Air Station Lemoore is safe for consumption.  NASL Public Works Department, in conjunction with Naval Hospital Lemoore preventative medicine staff, has completed testing of the water supply at the installation.  Samples taken from the Child Development Center, Naval Hospital, Main Galley, Operations Galley, Mainside Gym, Fleet Readiness Center West and Hangers One, Two and Four have all returned negative results for bacterial contamination.

Additionally, disinfectant chlorine levels were tested and returned levels that met regulatory limits.  These results reflect all past testing during the months of May and June.

Because of the gastrointestinal spike over the last two days we secured the use of the water supply for consumption as a precaution.

The water supply is and has been SAFE for consumption.  The spike in gastrointestinal distress is likely viral in origination and only spread through direct contact.  The symptoms, while unpleasant, are temporary and all patients have been treated and released.

We continue to urge frequent hand washing and cleaning food preparation surfaces often.  If you are ill stay home and limit person-to-person contact.  If you have a medical emergency, report to the hospital or call 911.  The water supply at NAS Lemoore is safe for consumption.
