Date Safe: Workshop for Teens

On Friday, April 1 and Friday, April 8 the Fleet & Family Support Center will be hosting a workshop just for teenagers.  "Date Safe" is intended to kick off April's Sexual Assault Awareness Month by teaching teenagers about the dangers of abusive dating.  The curriculum is modeled after "Love is Not Abuse," a program started by Liz Claiborne Inc.  To view the website, please click here.

With the new wave of technological advances, there are so many different ways that a young, budding relationship can be subjected to different kinds of abuse.  Texing and Social Networking sites are just two of the many different avenues that need to be explored.

Teen dating abuse is an unfortunate reality -- please make sure your teen is educated on the subject!

The classes are being held at the NAS Lemoore Teen Center from 2:30 to 4:30 PM.  For more information or to register, please call the FFSC's front desk at 998-4042.
