On Friday, April 1 and Friday, April 8 the Fleet & Family Support Center will be hosting a workshop just for teenagers. "Date Safe" is intended to kick off April's Sexual Assault Awareness Month by teaching teenagers about the dangers of abusive dating. With the new wave of technological advances, there are so many different ways that a young, budding relationship can be subjected to different kinds of abuse. Texing and Social Networking sites are just two of the many different avenues that need to be explored.
Teen dating abuse is an unfortunate reality -- please make sure your teen is educated on the subject!
