Exceptional Family Member Program

EXCEPTIONAL FAMILY MEMBER PROGRAM (EFMP)
The Exceptional Family Member Liaison at the Fleet and Family Support Center has a wide variety of EFMP services.
For Families:
·         Empower families with resources referrals, educational programs and consultation.
·         Assist families with completion of EFMP enrollment forms by referring to EFMP MTF Coordinators.
·         Provide information on TRICARE Extended Health Care Option (ECHO) and other resources for EFMP families.
·         Coordinate with military programs, medical facilities, and community agencies to create a network of support for each EFMP family.
·         Connect families with networking and social opportunities within their area.
For Service Members:
·         Provide enrollment guidance to reduce stress and save valuable time in the application process.
·         Discuss myths and facts about the EFMP.
For Commands:
·         Provide an overview of EFMP requirements, resources, and the enrollment process to all Sailors.
·         Provide resources and training for designated EFMP POCs and command leadership.
For Communities:
·         Provide information and resources to professionals who support military families enrolled in EFMP.
·         Coordinate special events to being agencies together to share information.
·         Raise awareness throughout military community of the benefits and resources for EFMP families.

EFM ORIENTATION
This class is designed to be an overview of the Exceptional Family Member program. Most attendees are either new to the program/potential enrollees, need a refresher, or want more information about the program. Attending this class will help families understand the enrollment/disenrollment process, categorization of family members, and services offered both on and off base.
(Class lasts 1.5 hours)

EFM POC TRAINING
The Exceptional Family Member Point of Contact Training is designed solely for the command POCs. The class covers all aspects of the EFM program and will address the POC’s role in the command. Class will cover on base resources, who to call for what, case management, and selecting orders.
(Class lasts 2-3 hours)

EFMP SOCIAL GROUP
Issues that are unique to our EFMP families of NAS Lemoore will be discussed in a warm and welcoming environment. At this group meeting there will be different support agencies on hand like a psychologist, EFMP Hospital Coordinator, and the School Liaison Officer. Free childcare will be available through CDC and CYP, prior registration is required.
