Use the FFSC to Alleviate Your Stress

Life, in general, is stressful.  The military brings many more avenues of stress into an already overloaded life.  The bad thing?  This stress is probably unavoidable.  The good thing? The Fleet & Family Support Center is here to help.  Even though there's no way to take all of the stress away, we'd like to give you the tools to ease the impact.

In June, we have various classes and workshops designed to help you get through the stresses of life.  The Relaxation Response, held on June 1, is based on research by a cardiologist from Harvard named Herbert Benson.  It will teach participants very simple techniques that reduce blood pressure, muscle tension, and heart rate and lead to improved well being, productivity and general happiness.  These practices are expected to help people live a longer and better life.

Anger & Stress Management is a 4-day workshop from June 14-17 that identifies the sources of anger and stress and serves as a group forum for talking it out and practicing helpful techniques in order to never let your anger or stress escalate.

To sign up for any of these FREE classes, call our front desk at 998-4042 or send a private message on our Facebook page with your name, phone number, command info/spouse's command info, paygrade and military affiliation.

Don't let stress get the best of you -- there are ways to deal with it.  Let the FFSC help you.  As always, if you are in need of more serious help, we have a staff of clinical counselors ready to assist you.
